Question by : Does anyone know of this ever happening with child support?
My ex husband controlled me thru 23 yrs of marriage, he stripped our accounts for drugs, in and out of rehabs. He had major anger issues of well and would quite often lock me out of the house ,take a baseball bat to the cars and yes of course through out the years the local cops knew us very well with a police log a mile long . Very embarressing!But I could never get him out of the house because he never physically beat me up so therefore because we had children I stayed as long as I could. One day when the kids were 16 & 20 ,my ex threw every stitch of my closing out in bags and changed locks on our multi family (4 owners, his mom, moms new husband , my ex and I)and I never went back . I was scared but with the help of HAWK I finally did it. I went to court to try to get custody of my 16 yr old daughter however at the age of 16 legally the kids can say who they want to live with and the kids were use to turmoil and that my ex gave them both full freedom and so needless to say my daughter stayed with my ex.It jut happened but I ended up getting involved with a normal man 5 mos after my separation who I am living with . He is the best thing in the world and my life is so simple . My ex is living in the house ,still doing drug which I cant prove, he also has never allowd me to get any of my belongings and he has resided with a gf who was the neighbor(which i am very happy about) who is 20 yrs younger than him and is engaged .Its been 3 yrs later and ,he has well tried still to control me he never went for child support but threatened that he would every other week if I didnt did buy this or that for our daugher. And trust me I as a mother should , I do everything for her except I do lose control of her when she goes back to he fathers.He never punishes her and gives her no curfews and he buys pot from her friends but Icant prove it only the text he sent her one day i had forwarded to my phone. I bring her to school every monring , make her breakfast, make her lunches every day have her over dinner and she will stay even at my house here and there when she gets into a fight with her dad and just let her know daily how mch I love her.He lets the boyfriends stay over, he allows drinking and drugging go on upstairs in my older sons apartment because he is 22 . My ex moved downstair with his gf and allowd my son to stay upstairs in our old apt with his gf. His mother jumped ship and took off to Florida but blood is thicker than water. With taking her to counselors, and mds and dentist and trying toget her to graduate thru these last 8 wks of school,not sureif she make it at this point but for some reason their father is still their hero. This rips my heart out day to day!! My ex wants to get married but he wants me to walk away from my 25% of the house because he never went for child support. My daughter turned 18 Feb however she has 8 wks to graduate if she does and has no interest for college after.I have alwyer but I am so scared of what will happen that with all the torment I went thru emotionally and mentally that I wil have to pay child support after she is 18 thru 23 even if she doesn go to college. Someone I work with mentioned that it is possible because my daugher is incompetent to live on her own. I was never in a hurry for my divorce of course I will never get married again 23 yrs is a long time and I got married at 21 and have learned alot since then.But because he wants to I believe I am entitled to 25% of my multi family but afraid this will back fire with child support even after my daughter is already 18 . he can not go for past I know that because was already have something in place and he never took me back !!Does anyone know the answer or been in a similiar situation?    Read more...
