My Best Friend Is Slowly Killing Himself….?
Question by loners: My best friend Is slowly killing himself….?
Okay so my best friend is my everything. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for him. So I’m asking this because I’m stuck on what too do. When he was born he had a hole in his heart. Well he had open heart surgery and they fixed it. So here we are fifteen years later. When we were thirteen he tried the energy drink nos. Now two years later he is addicted to the stuff and has been hospitalized. Many times because of what’s it’s doing to his heart. Doctors keep telling him if he wants to live then to quit drinking it. I have begged him to quit and his exscuse is that “noone cares about me and they would be better off without me.” I told him I care and he says only you and I appreciate it but you don’t need me. I do need him he is everything too me. His mom doesn’t care and his dad isn’t around so I’m lost on what too do. Can you guys give me dome answers.

It’s wonderful that you want to help your friend – he’s really lucky to have you.
If I were you, I’d go online and look up addictions, do some research about the mentalities of people who have them.
More specifically, I’d do research about your friend’s particular addiction. Here’s the results I got from a Google search for “Energy addiction help”:

I would also look into groups that help troubled teens in general. Here’s the list of results I got when I googled “Teen addiction helpline energy drinks”:

I hope this helps. Good luck to you and your friend.

Just don’t give up on him…Keep telling him how much u need him and love him… maybe talk to a school counselor or a trusted adult who cares because he sounds depressed. I hope that you can get through to im because he has so much life to live!! I will pray for him and you as well!!
