I have a friend who idolizes someone who used to do heroin (that person’s dead now). I guess my friend really wanted to know what her idol saw in heroin that she began trying it too, and now she’s hooked. I want to help her, even if it’s just by finding a drug rehab for her. Any suggestions as to how I could convince her to get herself treated too?

Here’s the thing, my parents adopted my little brother about 8yrs ago, he was placed with us as a kid because my mom was a foster parent. He is now 17 1/2 yrs old. He was aloud by the courts to see his biological mom while growing up (when she wasn’t in jail or rehab) but at one point the courts got tired of his mother going in & out of jail & rehab so they permanently took her parental rights. So the court was going to put him in a group home but he was so much a part of our family that my parents decided to adopt him.

I’ve heard countless times many christians claiming that there are a lot of homosexuals that have been healed by God, and are no more homosexuals. That’s a big fat lie, homosexuality is not a disease and therefore cannot be healed. Another popular line they desperately like to throw is, “I once was an Atheist like you, but now I’ve found the truth…blah blah blah”.
Isn’t there a verse in the Bible that says something like, “thou shalt not lie”?

im a junior in high school and was thinking about looking into psychology in college. and i realize that i would be more interested in working in a rehab center and i was wondering where i would start? like what to take in college besides psychology and so on

Most of the people who work at rehabs have had substance abuse issues of the own. You won’t see many psychologists working at rehabs, you will find psychiatrists because they can write prescriptions, psychologists can’t.
