I feel my past drug addiction would make me a great counselor. I live in Florida. Could I be licensed or certified in this field or would it be worth it to go make and get my Masters in this field?

You may having to do training on the job or a short sit in course type certification but yes! I would see what your options are and see if you like it. you could always go forth with your masters after you get your feet wet. Most drug counselors have a drug history! good luck to you!
