I know that I want to specifically work with people who suffer from addiction and substance abuse– most likely working in a rehabilitation center. Does anyone know the type of schooling I would need or what I should major in to achieve this? Your help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

A friend of mine in Alabama is addicted to heroin and has finally decided it’s time to get help. The only problem is he doesn’t have insurance or the money to get into rehab. There is a free rehab in Birmingham, but they have a long waiting list. He needs help now, not next week or next month! He has become very depressed and suicidal. He says it’s easier to just stay on heroin! Can anyone recommend a rehab in or around Alabama that will take him for free or possibly for a couple hundred dollars?
