I have legal custody of my grandson since May of 2004 in which time her mother went to drug rehab see saw him 4 months after she got out in Oct 2004. From then til now has been in numerous drug rehabs and prison. She has not seen my grandson since Oct 2004. Are there any legal actions I can take.

I’m a little confused–if you already have legal custody, what’s the issue? I think there’s more to this that we need to know to answer correctly.

To give you information like phone numbers I would have to know your city. If you go to www.samhsa.gov then you can look up substance abuse treatment facilities in California. I know to find it sometimes I have to go through the mental health treatment services first but there is a link for substance abuse treatment facilities. Good luck on this but remember that these places have a lot of privacy laws to follow.

I love my brother so much that it tears me apart seeing him gradually devastated by his drug addiction. I know that only drug rehabilitation programs can help but I wonder how they can actually do this. You see, I’m very particular since he’s the only brother that I have.
