AP English. I have to write a research paper on a current social issue that affects the community or population in general. Something along the lines of “Should Prostitution be Legalized?” Or “Should teacher be trained and allowed to carry handguns in schools?” I want something fresh. Not Cliché (like should marijuana be legalized or should the drinking age be lowered.” Preferably something that I don’t already have a firm stance on. Any suggestions? Thank you 🙂

Question by just me: How do people get jobs as counselors for corporations?
Some places of employment, usually big corporations like Best Buy and Wal*Mart, will offer a hotline for their employees to call if they need someone to talk to about issues in their lives. Who do these counselors work for? How did they get that job? If anyone has info, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

You need to contact a company that specializes in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). Check your yellow pages for local providers.

This is Ron Paul’s Plan to Restore America Budget that will cut one trillion in one year and balancing the budget in 3 years with more proposals that have been unannounced. I think it is a good plan for I support Ron Paul AND it actually cuts spending and downsizes government. Now I am no expert on budgets and things like that, but for people who are, tell me what is wrong with this plan, why this would negatively affect the economy? After WW2, we had a budget that cut 50% percent of things after 10 million soldiers came home from the war, and it boosted the economy. So why is Ron Paul’s Plan bad or is it good because it actually cuts spending and downsizes the federal government?

I am a 24 year old woman who has battled with drug and alcohol addiction for about 7 years. I have gotten in some trouble with the law (DUI and possension of various drugs) over the last year. I have finally agreed to go into a rehabilitation center ( I live outside of Chicago) and I am having trouble finding places that best suite me. I have tried out patient therapy and counseling over the years but they don’t really seem to help me. My family wants to get me into a sober living facility but I am not exactly sure what I am looking for. Is there any website or phone number I can call to help better figure out what would work best for me. Any suggestions will help. Thank you
What Did People in Mental Institutions Do?

Hm yeah I know probably an odd question but I was just curious as to what the patients in the old asylums actually did while in there?
I mean looking at some videos they were obviously huge, so were patients just allowed to roam free and do whatever they like? Or were there certain places they couldn’t go or do? Did they do any activities or is it true that they were abused and locked up?
