My Brother Is Dating a Pregnant Woman?

Question by : My Brother is Dating a Pregnant Woman?
My brother, who is 28 years old, has always stressed that he’ll never meet the right girl and even fears he’ll never have any children.

He has been in 2 serious relationships, one girl was very career driven and made it clear she didn’t want children until later in life. The other woman he dated had huge drug problems, so it’s no wonder (thank heavens) she never fell pregnant.

I found out today he is now dating a woman who he met a few weeks ago — who is 5 months pregnant — the child isn’t his (obviously as he only met her 2 weeks ago).

HELP! Can Anyone…?

Question by bigmouth: HELP! Can anyone…?
My mother has just been sentanced to confinement in a mental hospital, and my little half sister has just been diagnosed with leukemia. She is eight years old. I am twenty years old, and I literally have NOBODY to turn to. I work, but I also go to college and though I can predict the road ahead of me is going to be a bumpy one, I still need all the help I can get. Does anyone have any idea what I’m going to expect in the next few months to couple of years, and what I should do as far as the money goes? I’m completely at a loss. Thanks.

Biological Causes of Drug Abuse?

Question by ?tshai?: biological causes of drug abuse?
what are biological causes of drug abuse ???

Best answer:

Answer by Beautrixrabbit
Drug abuse is an interaction between individual genes, neurochemical systems, psychological motivations and beliefs and environment. Biologically, any substance will impacs the neurochemical receptors of the brain. Illicit drugs for example interact with the dopaminergic and serotonergic pathways of the brain. These pathways are responsible for reward-pleasure seeking learning. Hence, repeated activation of these pathways may result in drug-seeking behaviour. But genes play a huge role as they mediate the receptivity of those pathways. Some people’s reward systems will be more sensitive to the effects of a drug and therefore they will learn and become conditioned to a drug more rapidly and hence become more dependant. But psychological factors also intervene as well.
